Is your Adblock icon red or green? if it's green it's off.

Ad block does not prevent pop ups. It stops ads. Sounds like he is infected. Are your searches being re-directed? Sites such as "Gamingwonderland" are filled with nothing but crap and toolbars. Did this happen after visiting there site? Did you agree to there terms?

    No searches are not redirected!
I am not interested in gaming so I did not visit that site!
I may be infected but I am using fully updated ESET Smart security!

Is this also happening in IE? If not then do a COMPLETE uninstall of Chrome. I mean complete. Use Revo Uninstaller or Advanced Uninstaller. Reboot after all that and use CCleaner registry cleaner. Download the Chrome registry cleaner from here. http://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=111899

Then check for any files and folders left over in C;/User/Appdata. Reboot. Download a fresh copy of Chrome.

    Backup your bookmarks first.

Also try doing a scan with MalwareBytes AntiMalware Free

This is going to sound OT but that is not my intention.

If you've scanned and are not infected after uninstalling Chrome, if you don't see that pop up with IE (and don't want to use it) prior to installing chrome again try Opera.

There's no messing with Opera in terms of plugins, changing searches and all that nasty stuff drive by downloads love to do, basically, sites can't mess with it.

If you still feel like you're infected, file a support ticket with Eset and add the pop up url.
