Referer Control creates different referers for different sites I make many news sites see me coming from google news https://goo.gl/X8Dhhj https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...in?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog

    SpruceMarks alphabetizes bookmarks https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...oj?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog

    stops chrome from saving history

Fix URL Links Redirect (this has to be shut off when logging into some sites) https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...jd?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog the only general redirect blocker for chrome afaik

    Clear Cache shortcut https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...jd?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog

    Context Menu Search
    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...ga?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog
created a context menu with your custom searches

bookmark favicon changer - you can disable this except when you need to add a favicon or change one https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...nh?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog

FlashControl https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...oe?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog I'm not sure if using this and allowing Flash everywhere is a security risk or if using this stops Flash from being used for exploits I'd like some feedback on this

Adblock Plus, Ghostery and Script Blocker for Chrome. I use them in the 3 Chromium browsers I'm playing with: Opera Blink, Vivaldi and Chrome. Script Blocker is for some reason downgraded in the Chrome store and a search in the store will not get you to it but a Google search will take you directly to Script Blocker's page in the store.

I'm using Chrome in real person non VPN mode with a Google account so I have no need to block WebRTC. WebRTC doesn't work in my Opera installation. Just using a good script blocker cripples it anyway and only whitelisted sites could make use of it even if it wasn't stopped or disabled in the browser.

    Yes, they are must-haves!

I wonder why you're using the second one since Lastpass does the same ...?

Hm. I'm not sure if that one is really useful if you always log into yout accounts with Lastpass.

What does it provide that goes beyond what uMatrix offers?

Is it better than the popup blocker in uBlock0?

This is also already done in uMatrix every x minutes.

    Not necessary, IMHO, with click-to-play.

I'm questioning some of your choices as I always try to keep the number of extensions to a minimum in order to make my browser less unique (-> fingerprinting). That's why I avoid extensions which are redundant, IMHO.

LastPass commonly messes up when generating a password in that it won't remember the password so I end up having go through 'forgot my password'.

Thanks I'll get rid of Password Alert.

I have this set up so that websites see me as coming from their website. News websites see me as coming from Google News which often times lets me read the whole article on subscription sites. I can create a referer per website with this.

Poper Blocker gives options to allow one time or whitelist a site when it blocks a popup and its very aggressive at doing so.

I prefer to clear the cache on demand.

They don't have the click to play option anymore though the new 3rd option 'let me decide' may perform the same function Flash Control also blocks auto play of html5 videos something that the flash options in Chrome doesn't do.

I have no privacy concerns strictly safety from malware and ease of browsing.

Some of the fingerprinting methods I have read about border on the insane. If they want to find out about me they should just call and ask. I tried a beta extension called chameleon that took my panopticlick from 1 in 6,000,000 to one in 18,000 but it interfered with Google.

I've read that Chrome's password manager is not safe.

Oh, don't tell me that lol. Are there any specific exploits that you know of? I use the x64 version on Windows although it's not my default or main browser. I do use the x64 version of Chromium a lot on Ubuntu though. Also I use Chrome sometimes on Android, although it's usually only for sites Maxthon's adblocker (ABP) borks or pages that Dolphin breaks.

Hm, I've never had this problem. Every time I create a password with Lastpass it's saved in the LP vault. Strange ...

I've had it happen several times but its not that its not remembering 'a password' it's remembering something different that what it generated. So when I go to login using LastPass after just signing up and using LP's password generator the site says it's not the right password. There is no user error on my part when that has happened since its all automated.

I tried changing a password yesterday on a site where the password was considered insecure and using a LastPass generated password to do so. I ended up with three entries in LastPass.

I took your criticism to heart and culled a few unnecessary extensions.

I agree. I use another password generator too. Then I copy that generated password in the field and then LP stores it correctly.
