Checking for windows updates??

How does the windows update checker work? Exactly how often does it check for them? Is there a certain pattern to it?

The information about missing updates is provided by Windows Update itself. ESET does not compare installed updates with our own or MS database to determine which ones are missing.

 

Thanks for the clarification, Marcos - though it is good to know that the feature can be turned off as many users are tired of Windows Updates flags via Security Center, etc, I for one am.
But, that's just me
