changing os on a new compaq a916nr laptop os

hello people i brought a new compaq a916nr laptop and it will not let me change the os to a fresh install. it works fine until i get were you sellect a partition
it says no partition to select, thinking it was the restore partition creating the problem i brought a new hard disk put it in and the same thing there is some block are security keeping it from loading. ps i am experianced at fresh installs.

It could possibly be due to the windows install disk not having the drivers for your hard drive controller. I had a similar problem on my dell laptop, the hard disk controller was set to AHCI for which windows did not have a driver. I was able to set it to SATA and then able to install windows.
