    Thanks, EASTER.

    I'm still testing it.

I've had a HiBit Uninstaller crash already.
I closed Process Manager, and HiBit Uninstaller crashed.
Maybe I closed Process Manager too soon after opening it.

Also. Registry Cleaner finds a lot of entries. I haven't cleaned with it yet.

    Yeah, it's not good.
If you've used recent versions, you'll need to check certain places on your computer, such as Task Scheduler and the Registry.
I haven't used an installed version for many years. This all came from a (so called) portable version.

It automatically backups registry removals so they can be easily returned if one or another of them need be exempted.
Since i never once had to use any reg backups i often find myself removing from the list of reg backups roughly i allow them to collect in 7 day spans just to be sure. HiBit is also a very good uninstaller.

i ditched it when they added that crappy performance optimizer. so it's been quite a while since i stopped using ccrapper. :thumb:

In my experience the registry cleaner is safe to use, with no false positives, even if you check all of the scan categories. However the uninstaller does have occasional issues with false positives, just like most uninstallers. So it makes sense to check what it wants to delete before letting it delete anything. But you shouldn't need to do this with the registry cleaner.

Since 6.04, CCleaner will not start any more (Windows 7 VM)...
(downloaded portable 6.05 via direct link, because on the builds page 6.04 is still offered...):
    Code:
    https://download.ccleaner.com/portable/ccsetup605.zip

Have to stay on 6.03 I guess...

I always download the portable, and delete all files except these, now it doesn't have the driver updates and bloat. I also keep my *.ini file to reserve my settings

I do exactly the same. :)

But this time the program just doesn't start any more.
However, in a Windows 10 VM snapshot, I installed the 6.04 Slim version and that worked, but what a bloatware that is.

Why does the portable version not work for me?

Well, guess what. After uninstalling the 6.04 Slim version, the portable version 6.05 worked again!

Maybe some inconsistent registry entries were deleted?

    @zmechys
That is why apparently the last version was taken off the website.
Did you do it through in CCleaner interface ?
Does it update if you download it from the builds page ?

My SUMo app informed me about an update, I've opened Ccleaner and checked for updates.
After receiving such a "strange" message,
I've downloaded CCleaner manually from its web-site.
