You don't always need to. You can avoid the Piriform installers from even asking you to download the crap spyware stuff by disconnecting from the internet during the install process.

This works because the installer can't connect to the spyware server, and will proceed to install the program (recuva, speccy, defraggler, ccleaner) anyways.

In fact I need to make a separate post about this.

By way of not having a preference for slim ? It's user choice what build one chooses to use, yes ?

Yes HKLM:RunOnce SMRequiresRestart...I found this in CCleaner Startup. Is this something good or maybe bad.

It's put there by a trojan. See here.
I presume a scan with Malwarebytes or Hitman Pro will find and remove it.

You should run a scan on your computer with MBAM or HMP as you either currently do, or did have a trojan on your computer.

I run scans with MBAM and HMP about once a week and never found anything bad. Just ran them again and the only thing new is finding Funmoods with HMP that it ignored.

It possibly is a trace left over from a past infection. You can disable it with CCleaner.

I was not able to Disable it. I could try to Delete it. It does not seem to be causing me any problems that i know of.
