I may be wrong but I believe that upon install CCleaner checks to be sure that you are installing the latest version. After install you shouldn't see any outbound attempts if you don't have CCleaner set to automatically check for updates.

You may be right. I haven't seen it attempt again since using it a bit. There's no concern unless I do see it trying again :)

some people seem to have a hate-on for .NET.

I clicked "yes" but later chose not to delete my FF and Chrome cookies. I'd rather deal with them personally.

you mean you clicked no right? Cause it asks you if you want to run the cookie scan to not delete the cookies

if you clicked no then ccleaner will delete all cookies like the older versions. But if you clicked yes, then it will save the cookies mentioned.

    Confused by your reply lol

Hmm new look and new goodies I see.

Anyone notice that Cookie popup when starting, hehe...

Boy I hope this doesn't start becoming bloat, I've always liked CCleaner for it's light simple approach...

I'm losing a little confidence in CCleaner. They keep cranking out updates every other week and it seems to work worse every time. They aren't keeping their documentation updated either to reflect the changes.

Worked always fine on my PC, and I liked the frequent updates with improvements and new features. Besides, it was about one update every month.

since they included 64 bit native exe, should it be installed in just programs files now instead of program files(x86)?

i just updated it on my vista 64 bit machine and i still see ccleaner in the program files(x86) folder.

and also, on my vista 64 bit machine i never got that Intellligent cookie pop up like i did on my xp home 32 bit computer?

I read that if you still have an old version in program files(x86) folder, 3.0 will also install there instead of the normal program files. Probably the same with the cookie pop-up.

and did anyone else notice an "Advanced" button on the bottom left hand corner during the install screen where you choose if you want desktop shortcuts and what not.

i didnt click it but it was never there in previous ccleaner installs. btw i installed the slim version.
