Still no Slim version, and quite a few hours have passed. Does the standard installer now come without bundled software?

It didn't offer or try to force anything else for me on Windows 7 64bit.

I thought slim version had previously been released at same time?

I believe that's correct.....or WAS correct. I distinctly recall where builds were released simultaneously within the last year and earlier. The delay has been introduced in the recent past, for whatever reason.

Regardless, I've been installing the "Installer" version (full version, I suppose) and have not seen anything untoward. I do, of course, have to remember to watch for those checked boxes and make sure I uncheck them.

The full installer for this version doesn't include any optional bundled software it just installs CCleaner, because there is no need for a slim version.

    Thanks.:D

The full version I just installed came bundled with the Chrome browser and wanted to make Google my default search engine. You can uncheck these boxes during installation, but I wish there was a slim version as available previously.

I downloaded the full versions directly from the developer's website. When I installed it on my Vista 32-bit PC an hour ago, there were boxes checked to install the Chrome browser and make Google my default search engine. I just installed it on my Windows 7 64-bit PC and nothing appeared to be bundled. I have no idea what accounts for the difference.

From where did you get the download installer?

    I got mine from http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
I just installed it today and it didn't have any bundled software and didn't try to make any changes to my default search engine.

Maybe other installers on other download sites still have bundled software, but this one doesn't.

    Thanks.:D

I downloaded the installers directly from Piriform's website. When I installed Ccleaner on my Vista PC, it came bundled with the Chrome browser as shown in brainrb1's screenshot. Yet the one I installed on my Windows 7 PC didn't even though it was the same file from Piriform. I have no explanation for this. It should be noted these installers are substantially larger in size than Ccleaner's slim versions so something is obviously added to them.

The installer might check to see if you have Google Chrome installed and if you do then it skips that step, if you don't then it offers Google Chrome.

On my system I already have Google Chrome installed even though I don't use it much, maybe this could explain why it didn't offer it to my system.

    Thanks.:)

I read somewhere on the Piriform forums that if you've opted out previously CCleaner waits a certain amount of times before offering Google Chrome again.

I didn't get anything extra either when downloaded from Piniform. But I do already have Chrome installed.

Btw, do some of you here use or tried "System Ninja" as a complement to CCleaner? As a test, I tried it and let the program clean all it wanted on my fresh 7x64 box (and I mean a lot of junk) and nothing seemed to break then...

CCleaner is essential for every Windows system. Great to see it updated with support for even more programs.
