Hello, I thought I would start a new thread for those who use the winapp2.ini file in CCleaner for its extended cleaning capabilities and use CCEnhancer to update the winapp2.ini file... Vesion 4.5 of CCEnhancer has been released... Homepage Download Announcement CCEnhancer FAQ Troubleshooting Note: If you are not familiar with the winapp2.ini file that can be used along with CCleaner, please note that this can add many cleaning options to CCleaner. Even though these options are tested, use at your own risk and care should be taken in deciding which cleaning options to use. I personally would only recommend using the winapp2.ini file to extend CCleaner cleaning capabilities to advanced users only and strongly recommend that if using for the first time to have a recent system image available for restore just in case something goes wrong. Again, use at your own risk...
Hello @Brummelchen, First off, adding a huge list of cleaning functions to CCleaner can slow its loading time down significantly. CCEnhancer has a "trim" function that you may enable which will scan your system against the list and remove all entries for items that are not on your system. This greatly reduces the size of the list and reduces CCleaner's load time to the point that you probably won't notice any increase in CCleaner loading times. You can either "trim" manually or set trim to be done automatically each time you download a new list. Additionally, if you create a lot of custom rules, it has two features that may come in handy. First, CCEnhancer has a debug function to check the list for problems and help you troubleshoot if you need to. Secondly, you can set CCEnhancer to add a custom list of your own rules to the winapp2.ini file each time you update the list. A couple of other things you can do... CCEnhancer can be set to update the list each time your system starts and can be set to silently launch CCleaner and clean after running CCEnhancer. I hope this helps...
It provides a convenient way for updating of the list, one single click and the list updated. Additionally it can be run on Windows Startup, CCleaner can be started automatically after updating, and the list can be trimmed automatically ... and custom entries can be added after each update of the list.
Hello @ratchet, You are most welcome ... Open CCEnhancer > Click "Settings" > In the "Settings" window under "Options" check "Trim definition file to improve performance" > Click "Save and Close" > Done... This will automatically trim the definition file each time you update it. You can also click "Advanced" > Click "Trim winapp2.ini" to do it manually. I hope this helps ...

I recently asked APMichael to add support for Interlink Mail & News to winapp2.ini: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/issues/377 So I modified 2 rules to fit my forked version of Interlink MailNews. I insert the 2 original rules: [Thunderbird DOM Store *] LangSecRef=3030 Detect1=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\FossaMail Detect2=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Mozilla Thunderbird Detect1=HKLM\Software\Binary Outcast\Interlink Detect2=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\FossaMail Detect3=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Mozilla Thunderbird Default=False FileKey1=%AppData%\FossaMail\Profiles\*|webappsstore.sqlite FileKey2=%AppData%\Thunderbird\Profiles\*|webappsstore.sqlite FileKey1=%AppData%\Binary Outcast\Interlink\Profiles\*|webappsstore.sqlite FileKey2=%AppData%\FossaMail\Profiles\*|webappsstore.sqlite FileKey3=%AppData%\Thunderbird\Profiles\*|webappsstore.sqlite [Thunderbird Startup Cache *] LangSecRef=3030 Detect1=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\FossaMail Detect2=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Mozilla Thunderbird Detect1=HKLM\Software\Binary Outcast\Interlink Detect2=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\FossaMail Detect3=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Mozilla Thunderbird Default=False FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\FossaMail\Profiles\*\startupCache|*.* FileKey2=%LocalAppData%\Thunderbird\Profiles\*\startupCache|*.* FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Binary Outcast\Interlink\Profiles\*\startupCache|*.* FileKey2=%LocalAppData%\FossaMail\Profiles\*\startupCache|*.* FileKey3=%LocalAppData%\Thunderbird\Profiles\*\startupCache|*.* Can any member of Wilder's explain their rules function/utility? I currently use only 2 rules to clean "Internet Cache" and "Session". The "Cookie" rule is not required. ****** EDIT I think I choose this look:
