Hi people, i am new to this forum. Just want to share something with you, i have been using SWB for quite some time already. I downloaded ver 3.5.1 last year and did many updates via the program update tab. Recently i am unable to do any updating via the tab and it just got hung for a few minutes and a popup asking me to check my internet connections. This is abnormal. So i uninstall my current copy (database 8/10/07) and reinstall a fresh downloaded copy from 'javacoolsoftware'. Installation no problem but when i select the update tab, again it fails. So i am stuck with SWB 3.5.1 (database 01/01/2006).

I am just wondering anyone out there share the same experience? Thanks.

I'm also having the same problem as the TS, since few weeks ago, i have trouble connecting to javacool website, and also having problem updating spywareblaster. i'm still able to update in the end though, have to keep trying the update than can connect successfully.no changes to update option, set default as direct connection.

    Same as hotasy2k....
updates>options>change use proxy address to...direct connection.

I don't know how this keeps going back to a proxy setting...

FWIW, I have found that I have to turn off some of my security tools to allow SWB to update. In particular SS 5.3.

Try turning off each 1 by 1 using manual update.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the information! :)

Have you contacted the developer of that program?

    Best regards and thanks,

Nope, I did way back on one of SWB entries that SS had labeled as a virus.
They confirmed it was a false positive.

So they know. One user will have 0 impact.
