yesterday i backed up my pc to an image on a usb drive using true image 9. this morning i wanted to learn about RAID and in doing so i wiped out my existing raid 1 array. I rebuilt the array and hoped I could restore from the image I made yesterday.

I was able to boot from the acronis true image emergency CD and load the image to the raid array from a usb drive. But when I try to boot I see an error message about windows not being able to see the hard drive. I have read some posts on here about BartPE and nvidia. Is this something I would have had to use BEFORE I created the image or is it something I can add now?

I can get to the drive structure using Windows XP restore but that's about all I can do. I hope that I don't have to start over and install all my programs again.

    Kevin,

It may help if you post your computer specs, the build number of TI 9 and the exact error message you're getting on boot.

If your backup image is valid (which it probably is if you've restored it without errors) then you should be able to get it back. It's possible that the rescue cd isn't seeing the RAID array properly. Have you tried restoring in the "safe" mode of TI? On my computer, the RAID array is found when accessed through the BIOS (safe mode), but isn't in the full mode. The other option would be to create a BartPE boot cd that contains the RAID drivers. You would have to do this on another computer or reinstall windows on yours.
