Can't open/create file message in Paragon B&R

    I installed Paragon System Backup 9.5 last year for my Win XP Professional OS.

    Two weeks ago it finally happened as my hard drive crashed. A new hard drive and XP reinstalled as well as my Paragon 9.5.

    All my backups had been saved to an external hard drive I located the last backup archive on the old system 4/23/2012 and started the recovery process. After the reboot Paragon said it was searching for Partitions info and then I get the message: Some Error Occured: Can't Open/Create File.

    I tried this a couple of times with the same result so in case the archive was somehow corrupt I tried to used 4/11/2012 but exactly the same thing happened with the same error message.

    Where do I go from here? Any advice would be appreciated.

    ran chkdsk on the drive and see if it reports any errors

    Followed your advice and no errors on my auxillary hard drive.
