It gets 3/4 of the way done then stalls. No error message, doesn't quit when I click Cancel, I have to kill it with the task manager. I tried the installer from the official site and one from Softpedia, same thing with both. Computer has required .NET. I'm not very familiar with W7 and was hoping someone might have a clue why it's doing this. Thanks.
Just wanted to add, Windows 8 Firewall Control is also on that computer but its service and processes were stopped.
Please try to wait a bit longer. TinyWall's installer seems to stall there, but it is merely taking long. How long depends on your computer's speed. It is precompiling it's own executable for faster startup on boot. As for WFC8 being already installed: Do not install two firewalls at the same time, even if one of them is disabled. While I suspect this has nothing to do with the installation taking long, you are only asking for trouble in the future.
Ahh, thanks for the reply. I'll do as you say and see how it goes. If I use TinyWall I'll definitely uninstall W8FC.
I'm having a problem with the UAC popping up during start-up and won't let Tiny Wall install during the start-up. I have to go to START and click on All PROGRAMS to get it if I don't click on the UAC pop up to allow it. Why does the UAC keep popping up for Tiny Wall when other programs are recognized during start-up? Has this happened to anybody else? Thanks, Shiri
I went down to the next to lowest selection on the UAC and it still pops up. Tinywall should be noticed like the firewall Shiri
Hello Shiri, sorry for the late reply. If UAC appears for TinyWall on every boot, then there is another application that is continouosly interfering with your TinyWall installation. Reasons can be many, from HIPS and sandboxing software to applications that disable Windows' firewall service.
