    I start the installation of build 796 from the downloaded file, and the installation progresses to the small dialog box for drivers. After a few seconds the program (and the whole computer) locks up -- the little clock in the box halts and there's no response to mouse or keyboard inputs. Power-off shutdown of the computer is the only out.

    Seems pretty obvious a driver conflict of some sort; I was hoping someone might have an idea where to start looking.

    Thanks!

    Hello mneblett,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

    Could you please do the following in order to check out the integrity of the installation package?

    - Download the checksum utility from www.acronis.com/files/support/md5sum.exe
    - Run the application and click on the ellipsis sign to browse and select the installation package you downloaded;
    - The MD5 value for Acronis True Image 8.0 (build 796) must be C3FCC4C3018F4687275CA283E68537DB

    If the installation package is ok but the error still remains please send a letter with the link to this thread to support@acronis.com.

    Thank you.
