    Hello Todd or Mitch:

While attempting to install a trial version of FDR Rescue prior to almost certainly buying it i encountered this error.

Not sure what other info you might need.
Home built computer, ASUS P6TD Deluxe Mobo,
intel core i7 920 CPU, 12 gigs Tri channel DDR3.
    Security software deactivated while installing.

    Long time ( since 2007 ) of FD-ISR here
willing to settle for FD-R since that is the
    available option now.

Strange, but it thinks the boot volume is not mounted. Why I do not know.

    Do this:

    1. Open Disk Manager.
    2. Assign a drive letter to the boot volume (System Reserved).
    3. Open My Computer and double-click the System Reserved volume.
    4. Close the System Reserved window.
    5. Back in Disk Manager remove the drive letter.
    6. Try the installation again.

    Hello Mitch:

YAYYYYYY!!!!! it ( almost ) worked. The install
went fine. After the install i was told that my trial version had expired.
i downloaded it no more than 8 hours
ago. Incidentally, i think assigning a
letter to the "unmounted" volume and
then removing it has resolved another
    issue i had.

i tried it again, this time leaving a letter on
the unmounted volume, it worked. ( Damn,
    i wish i understood computers better )
