Well, I do truly hope you folks can keep decently warm. You know, I wouldn't mind having an excuse to build a nice fire to sit around every evening. As it is, I don't have a fireplace in my house... I would have taken half the size outta the walk-in closet to the master bedroom when the house was being built ;) So i hafta do the porch thing which means only when it's cold but not too cold.

    yeah 65 or so ;)

For the first year after I moved to Texas from Kansas, I walked around all winter in shorts and t shirts while everyone told me how crazy I was.... By the next winter, I was huddling up in a big coat when it got to 65 along with everyone else :p

I lived in Fort Scott; down in the southeast corner. I still go to northern/central Kansas for a family reunion in a tiny town called Hoxie.

Back in the early 70's I lived in Hugoton Kansas. About as far west as you can go, and it got plenty cold there to.

I think we might be in trouble. The world seems to be shrinking before our eyes. Does snow cause shrinkage? No dirty thoughts now.

I don't think it is the snow it self but when it melts and goes away I think the world shrinks like a dried out sponge . As a matter of fact hugoton looked like a dried out sponge :D :D :D

I don't think melting causes it. There's no melting here. In fact it's----ohhhh---owwww---ouch---that hurts---beetlejuice raises arms over head and runs for cover as big puffy snowflakes the size of golfballs fall from sky---
The kind of snow that's perfect for making a snowman or snow woman----

I want to thank my good friends bigc and Detox for getting together and both blowing raspberries (at least I hope they were only raspberries) in my direction. Ahh come on now, admit it.. I'm really not mad, as they had a completely unexpected effect. Yesterday it was 55F, and today it was 68F and all of the snow is gone. What a day. No snow and 10,000 members. Who could ask for anything more----Well except for the champaign from Paul! :D
