Canada adopts strict rules for drone flights The regulations are sometimes tougher than in the US January 13, 2019 https://www.engadget.com/2019/01/13/canada-drone-rules/
Oh boo who, waa waa. That sounds like a spoiled brat whining that his mommy and daddy took away his BMW after his 5th speeding ticket. I applaud Canada for this. The US and other countries need to follow step because there are just way too many stupid drone users who fail to use common sense. Drones are cool and definitely fun to fly. But users need to understand they should not be used for spying on others or over or near restricted areas. For sure, film crews and news outlets should already have professional and properly certified drone pilots. Private citizens need to know the rules - especially where it is illegal/unsafe to fly. I do wonder how much that certificate and online exam costs. It should be no more than needed to cover the administrative costs of the program.
