i know, thats what is puzzleing me. if its not running there should be no reason why he cant remove it. maybe, are you logged on as administrator?

If it is running and not showing up anywhere you can delete it out of the registry if you know what you are doing and are comfortable in there. You can delete running processes from the registry without stopping them first.

If you do not know your way around the registry you should not do it, you can really screw up your computer if you delete something you shouldnt because when you delete there it is permently gone maybe we better look for a safer way for a while because you would have to run the search in the registry multiple times to get all of the program to much of a chance of messing up accidently.

maybe as a last resort I could get one of the HJT experts to look at it. because we don't do those anymore here. except in extreme cases

It would show up as the program and if it was loaded. If it shows up you can definatly delete it from there. Just be careful what you delete.

This is just a suggestion. Get Regseeker .It has a search function that can find and remove anything Script Sentry.

If you doubleclick the the backup file that you removed with Regseeker, it should add the entry(s) back to the registry.
