I just thought I'd let your company know there seems to be a problem where certain software installations such as Adobe photoshop CS2, Microsoft products, and another product I forgot of does not allow copying of text nor the use of the, "Capture a License Agreement" feature. It seems the box they are using is a type of large drop down menu where it highlights one line at a time. I am sure other users have experenced the same problem I have seen and could provide some free download examples (although they all seem to be products you need to buy). It is a wonderful program and I tell all my friends to use EULAlyzer. Thanks for all your help and I am hoping for enchantments in the future. Thanks for supporting the community!
Do you know which Microsoft products use this method? I'll certainly look into addressing it. Glad to hear you like it. Best regards, -Javacool
I will attempt to find it again, although I will need to do it on the weekend (too much work to do). It would be easier if I didn't need to uninstall and install again, since it detects the application is installed and prompts for a uninstall. - Devilman
Ah, I found one again. It is a little different than the Microsoft one that I can't seem to find again, although Nero 6.6.0.16 does somewhat the same type of non-selectable text. http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/download_demo.php?pak=1
I have some good news: I've found an example of the initial Adobe setup you specified, and EULAlyzer 1.1 will be able to capture its license agreement (and all similarly "non-copyable" license agreements that are contained in embedded Internet Explorer windows). The Nero setup is quite different - so I'll see what I can do. Best regards, -Javacool
Awesome, great work so far. By the way, another one which might be more difficult since it is in a 3d rendered window is WoW (World of Warcraft), which prompts you to accept 2 licease agreements when openning the game and when an upgrade occurs. The game can be run as window mode and EULAlyzer it unable to select it, and I am also unable to select the text to copy/paste. This might be a little harder, although thanks for helping everyone out.
I wanted to say the problem with Nero 6 license agreements remains. I updated to 6.6.1.4 today and found the problem described. EULAWatch didn't flag the agreement, dragging the plus sign to analyze failed, and I'm unable to copy the license text for manual analysis. There is a Nero 7 product now available. (BTW, its $64 upgrade fee seems a bit hefty.) I don't know if it differs in behavior. Paul
Re: Can not copy EULAs - MS Photo Info Another one that ELUAnalyzer (v1.2) is not able to copy or analyze is the ELUA for Microsoft's Photo Info Powertoy (found at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/prophoto/photoinfo.mspx)
Re: Can not copy EULAs - MS Photo Info Hello? Is anyone monitoring this forum? If so, can you tell us whether there is a fix that allows ELUAnalyzer to work for the Microsoft ELUA mentioned above? Thanks in advance ...
Re: Can not copy EULAs - MS Photo Info Hi, I'm afraid that I can't reproduce the problem you are experiencing - it copies and analyzes just fine here, using the latest version of EULAlyzer (1.2). Exactly what error message/problem are you experiencing? Best regards, -Javacool
Re: Can not copy EULAs - MS Photo Info It has been a while - I'll have to uninstall and try again on the re-installation. Will post the results...
Re: Can not copy EULAs - MS Photo Info OK, I'm not able to reproduce the problem with the current version either. Originally ELUA Analyzer was not able to copy the text. It is able to now. So this one goes down as 'not reproducible'... Thanks for the reply - cheers
