My daughter's computer has the win 7 antispyware 2012 malware. I installed a trial version of nod32 and while a complete scan did find 2 infections (kryptik trojan), it didn't seem to find this particular malware, which shows up running with the icon of the security shield.

Since this is spreading like wildfire, I am wondering if nod32 is able to find it? Can it prevent it and/or get rid of it once it's on the system?

This malware has a few different names depending on the OS you are running. But it's the same infection in each case.

(this appears to be the same malware as mentioned in the thread win 7 anti-virus, which I posted a comment)
