i have a laptop with windows 7 preinstalled, but as per law the cd key is printed on the underside of the laptop on a a genuine COA. can i reinstall the same edition of windows and use this cd key.

to clarify the preinstalled OS comes with a bunch of crapware that only slows the system, can i just reinstall the same edition of windows and find my own drivers minus the crapware.

i realise that i will lose the bundled software, but theres nothing i really use that came bundled and i can streamline things better.

    Gazzer.

Yep, a key is a key. I had to download an ISO for Win 7 once and install after a failure.
