    Well,

Seems we will be getting more thin-aps like options Evalaze, Cameyo, RX SandboxIE, Dell Secure Browser. So for people wanting a safe browser there are options developing on the horison.

For people using FF, Opera or Chrome as main browser, I allways add Bufferzone free for IE8. I used to add a GeSWall free single safe browser (Chrome in Windows7 look) with lots of redirects (e.g. to flash cookies and temp files which are cleared after guarded application shuts down by GeSWall), for people using IE8 as default browser. Reason for GeSWall Free over Sandboxie free, is that GW has limited application virtualisation capabilities AND puts downloaded files in policy management container (like DefenseWall). Reason for Bufferzone over Sandboxie is that easy to use out of the box andit AND has some policy management protection on downloaded executables/scripts (need to manually change XML steering files of older version). Both can be tweaked (GW 2.9 BZ 2.5) to stop outbound connections within container/sandbox.

I have the idea that hardware virtualisation is somewhat more solid than application virtualisayion, so I am following these developments with interest.

    NB.
All of my acquitances/friends who asked for a safe browser, change the name the name of the shortcut (allways changed from Porn Browser :D to Safe Browser or something simular).

    Hi all,

To answer some of the questions on this thread:
    - Cameyo was not built for securing browsers etc (nor are Thinapp, SVS, etc). Of course, the sandbox feature allows isolating applications from the system, but that's "weak isolation", not "strong isolation", as these programs were not conceived to contain malware, IPC, kill, kernel modules, code injection etc.
For strong isolation against *malware*, security software such as BufferZone Free should be used.

    - Some of the people here discussed problems with Cameyo. First of all, version 1.55 which is currently in active Beta (accessible through the home page) fixes a lot of the virtualization problems, especially with Side-by-Side programs such as Live Messenger.

    - For those of you who experience problems, I encourage to submit them on the cameyo.com forum. There are members (or myself) who can help, and if bugs are found it helps us fix them (you'll notice Cameyo is still designated as "beta" on the website).

Overall, although our site has only been up for a short time yet, we've had very good feedback; people seem to be happy to have a simple & free alternative to expensive & complex app virtualization software.

Keep up the good reviews & feedback!
    Cameyoco

Haven you used any unconventional apps, paticularly web monitoring software?

I'm having problems running adobe air apps on vmware, I'd like to try this out, but never got round to do it.
