After reading through this thread about bullguard i decided to give it a whirl this morning and the installation went without any issues.

However the resource usage was very high in my opinion.90000k ram being used at one point.Although this was straight after installation and it didnt seem to affect the computer anyhow.
Does this resource usage go down in time because if it doesnt then i wont try it again.

Also i couldnt find where to configure the firewall anywhere.Upon installation i couldnt get connected to the internet at all.

Those are the only two issues i experienced with bullguard. If somebody could clarify that the resource usage will go down because i considered it heavy.
Any help with the firewall would be appreciated too or have i missed something i needed to do.:doubt:

    @Dark Shadow: Awesome bro!

I just renewed my 1 year using the 70% discount offer and now I have 4 years license for 5 computers :)

Well done man! And this price for such an awesome suite running the Bitdefender Engine + Outpost Firewall is a STEAL really and probably won't happen again so that's why I purchased me a long term license at least I found a replacement for my old AV (wont mention name here) that is light and effective!!! :) I love my new laptop now and how it performs

    Can anyone confirm this?

When I installed BullGuard I was given option to have more control over what it does, but I uninstalled it before dealing with any actual threats, so did not get to test this.

I refuse to use any av software which does not let ther user choose what to do when a threat is found.

This page shows the setup options:

    http://www.bullguard.com/support/pr...ivirus-guides-13/main/antivirus-settings.aspx

Two options for dealing with an infection are offered:

    • Fix the file
    • Block the file

In addition, if you check the "Display a popup" option, you'll be presented with a dialog box when an infection is detected:

    http://www.bullguard.com/support/pr...es-13/antivirus/antivirus-alerts-(guide).aspx

This dialog box (and a "More details" link in the box) offers some combination of these options:

    • Allow
    • Delete
    • Quarantine

If BullGuard cannot deal with the infection, it also offers this option:

    • Contact support

So there is no option to ignore the detection? In that case, I won't give BG 2013 another try.

Is Allow the same as ignore?

I would think that "allow" equals ignoring. I suppose it is a question as to whether an exclusion is added if you click on allow.

Apparently, if you don't delete the infected file immediately upon detection, your only other option is to send it to quarantine and deal with it there:

    http://www.bullguard.com/support/pr...s-guides-13/antivirus/quarantine-(guide).aspx

    Quarantine offers these options:

    • Restore
    • Upload
    • Delete

The "Allow" option is only offered with a behavioral detection. It means that the executable can continue to run. The "Allow" option is not offered when an infected file is detected, so "Allow" does not mean "Ignore."

Why would you "allow" an infected file anyway?
