[bug] Protocol Filtering blocking downloads of MetroTwit Desktop

I've been attempting to install MetroTwit tonight, and I couldn't get it to work until I disabled Protocol Filtering on my computer

Steps to reproduce:

1) Visit www.metrotwit.com and proceed to download MetroTwit for Desktop
2) Successfully able to download the installer
3) Installer appears to be a Silverlight installer that will download and install the MetroTwit app
4) Installer will freeze upon starting the download. Cancelling and restarting the installer will have the download freeze at different points than before.

Fix:

Disable Protocol Filtering

I don't think there's a patch for Windows 8 when it comes to KB2789397.
