    Hi there,

Which browsers of these would you smart guys recommend, IE 8, FF, Google Chrome, Opera?

Personally I like Google Chrome cause its fast.

Opera 9.64 works good but has no latest java plugin........www.java.com?

    Hoping to hear your views.

    Regards!

Perhaps this thread may interest you.

Truthfully, use whatever browser/s you like and keep them and your add-ons, plugins, operating system and programs updated and you'll be on step ahead of the bad guys. To keep updated I use the Secunia online or downloadable scanners that will alert to any "vulnerable" software that you may have. See the link in my signature if your interested.

Dang ance was fast with the thread link :).

Yes. I have Firefox, IE7 and K-meleon installed with no problems :thumb:.

I'm not familiar with Java in Opera so hopefully someone else will comment.

Having 3 browsers installed hasn't been a problem here either.

Now, that's a strange statement. Java works perfectly with Opera 9.64

java works fine here in opera.
java 6 update 13 im currently using.
for some reason on vista i have to download msvcr71.dll and extract it to C:\Windows\system.
if i dont i get an error message saying msvcr71.dll is missing so java wont work. same for windows 7.
has anyone else had that problem?

Chrome (which I find to be much faster than IE7); falling-back to IE7 when the website isn't 'Chrome-compatible'.

Related (sort of) to the OT. Has anyone seen the TV advertisement for the Google browser?

Wonder just how many people even know what the commercial is about. :doubt:

I've used everything (plus more) mentioned so far and as of now, I probably like K-Meleon the best. It offers an excellent balance of speed, features, and security.

Regardless of the browser(s) you eventually settle on, also use Sandboxie, Returnil, or some other proven application which allows you to run your browser in an isolated environment.

Java latest 1.6.0.14 works fine on Opera 9.64, be it Linux or Windows.

I think k-meleon is one of the best browsers........where can I learn more about it.

Opera sucks more system resources /memory vs. k-meleon.

    Thanks alot.

    Regards,
