Brave will not update to this version on one of my machines. I downloaded the installer and tried to update over the existing version but I'm still on 79.0.3945.130. When I check for updates it says Brave is up to date.

    Any suggestions?

I had the same problem, I was wondering why it wouldn't update, uninstalled v.1.2.43 and installed v.1.3.114 so far so good. Thank you both.

Yep! I dumped Chrome and installed Brave a while ago.

    #263

But now that MS Edge Chromium has been released I tend to use it more. Firefox is still my go to browser though.

Maybe I will give it another go. I am still on Chrome as I find it faster than the new Edge. I also have a problem with a few sites I need to use for work that do not work with Firefox or Edge. Would love to use Firefox all the time, but it is just too slow for me on both my home and work computers. Stinks.

I must say that Brave is coming up with interesting solutions, but why not simply replace banners with static ads that are non tracking. Would be cool if they could make deals with major websites. I think that Brave Ads and Brave Rewards should be made more simple.

I have tested Brave Portable and it works just fine. I don't believe "dropped rights" is that important.

What exactly would you like to know, other than that it seems to work correctly with Sandboxie? I do have to say that I think it's a bit weird that on start up, Brave seems to connect out and loads about 12MB of data. It's probably legit traffic, but it's not a good look for a browser dedicated to privacy, less phoning home would be nice.

I had to uncheck Drop Rights for Brave to work.

I wish audio worked in Kubuntu on my Desktop machine. It worked OK when I had Kubuntu installed on my laptop.

Firefox and VLC audio works fine, just not Brave.
