I custom ordered a comp from Gateway with hardware only. I have posted what it entails. They also sent me a Vista Home Premium DVD. And I went from there. But I have not tinkered with any of the OS base components or coding. Basically Vista is stock as a rock.:thumb: I have of course installed the software that I use.

When you have the power of the Q, you don't need tweaks. It IS the tweak :D

    Hey bigc, small question:

Since you have a quad-core, does each core show 25% usage in Task Manager?

No, usually multiple cores are showing 0 use and only one or sometimes more depending on what I am doing at the time. I have another computer with a dual core that does the same.:thumb: Oh and I don't use task manager to keep track of the processor. I use the AMD power monitor to see what it is doing at any given time.

Well I mean when the processor is fully utilizied.

For example I have dual-core and two instances of Folding@Home. Each one shows 50%:

I haven't run anything that put that much load on the 4c Processor yet, I am sure I will eventually but not yet. Here is a screen shot from the other comp with the two core AMD. I had posted a screen shot of what I thought was a screenie of the quad but it was an old vista side bar gadget of the dual core so I removed it.. post on of the quad later. have to get busy on the street rocket :D :thumb: The screen shot is taken while running a full scan with Norton AV with antispyware 2008 on the dual core.

I put FAH on my computer to check it out. According to the sidebar gadget each core constantly changes in usage with an overall 25% total system usage:
