    Maybe we have them net intruders to thank for throwing so much havoc for as long as they did since now security and prevention are more strongly ramped up then ever before. If even a whisker of a botnet DDoS etc crops up there's safeguards and other provisions set up by most serious systems to stave off such disruptions and/or at the very least minimize the affects from one.

    Of course none of this applies to outdated, neglected, or otherwise small priority systems still in circulation which will soon enough make the daily press once they get popped by a forced disruptor of whatever sort will fit their way into them and expose the weakness.
