I disagree with "Never install previews". If nobody installed the previews there would be no feedback and that preview would eventually become the release without any testing. More importantly is never install any update without a backup. Then you can roll back a failed update. If you don't want to install a preview then by all means, don't do it. Someone has to be brave and test them or everyone gets "previews". :)

me too. another gonzo article. yes, the latest preview may cause issues, but not here on two win11 machines nor other for win10. yes, previews need telemetrie like firefox studies need telemetrie how they features or patches are adopted and need fixing or not.
no, ms called it "preview", not "beta". admitted that i may end up in a similar state.
no, for europe copilot is not activated by default. only the conclusion for business machines is ok.

I've always installed the previews and endorse the comments @xxJackxx made.

Backups are a safety net I have never needed for Previews so far.

I noticed that too. I've had it hidden almost since it was released but now it's gone. I don't show it installed or in my history, and it doesn't look like my Recovery partition is any bigger. Maybe they figured out a way to do it with another patch.

A UK/British expression, which basically means: "To go spare in the UK, is to get really pissed off over something. It's driving me to despair."

Google is your friend, supposedly. :)

I just checked Windows Updates, and it offered up that particular one, again. So, I terminated it. Looks like I will have to hide it, again. I really don't know how it became unhidden.

KB50334441 is still being offered & failing to install at every update check on my work at home PC (which I do not own). Updates are controlled by Intune & our IT dept, so these are all automated checks rather than me physically checking for updates. I've alerted our IT dept but they aren't bothered.

On my personal machines the update remains firmly hidden.

Not sure if a bork or not, or when it started but it would have to be recently. I was just noticing that on Windows 11 when you open the properties dialog for any file it shows a tab for Digital Signatures. If there is no signature it is blank. In the past this tab only displayed if there was a signature. I have checked this on 3 Windows 11 PCs and they are all the same. Windows 10 does not do this. Likely nobody cares but it seemed odd and if it were deliberate I have no idea what use it would serve.

Just had a look on Win 11 at one of my exe's without a digital signature and I don't see the tab for Dig Signatures in Properties.
    Are they insider builds?
    Any reg tweaks?
Does this show anything for the file?

Thanks for verifying. I found it odd that is was every single file type. Not just .exes and other commonly signed files. Text files, shortcuts, everything.
3 Different builds actually. 1 of them is Release Preview.
No reg tweaks that should affect this that I am aware of.
It's ultimately not a problem that I feel I must fix. It doesn't hurt anything and I assume it will eventually get corrected. I figured if anyone else was seeing it then it would help identify where it started. Maybe.

Updates for Win 10 and Win 11 installed and running.
Updates were slightly slower than last time to download and install but that might have just been traffic.
