"Microsoft Out-of-Band Update Fixes Arm Device Issues

Microsoft has been forced to issue an out-of-band update to fix an issue in Windows devices running Arm chips caused by this month’s Patch Tuesday fixes.

KB5016138 was issued on Monday for Windows 11 users to rectify a problem that may prevent users from signing in using Azure Active Directory (AAD). KB5016139 was released to fix the same issue on Windows 10..."

Well, got KB5015807 on the regular bork-day but no borks. Went very quickly and smoothly. Also got a Malicious Software Removal Tool. About 2 GB to clean on here, more or less.

New winver: 19044.1825 (Windows 10). Will do Windows 11 updates at a later time.

CU for W10 21H2 was smooth as silk, but MSRT wasn't offered.

I can't help but wonder whether there's a connection betw. the increased updates/new version frequency and Microsoft's wanting to phase out hard disk drives as the primary boot drives. Even so, I don't recall where, in general, HDDs were inherently less substantially durable than SSDs.

I am trying to figure out what gives with these mysterious decisions that no user seems allowed to input on.

    The way I read this
is precisely what the article states: that it was a throwaway line, meaning only in the context of feature development, i.e. "the last" meaning " the latest".
