KB5010386 for Windows 11--seemed to install OK and showed up as successfully installed in the History but...when I restarted the machine and got back to desktop, I had the dreaded "restart pending" notification in Windows Update again. So after like two restarts and one shutdown, I had to go online to find some help as sfc /scannow, dism and the Windows Update troubleshooter weren't cutting it.

This tutorial fixed it (Fix #3) and saved my Windows 11 installation...phew.

Yes, the .NET one only showed for me after the restart and then selecting manually 'check for updates'

I am not a IT Professional so i can wait a few weeks for any improvements instead of being used as a tester for a Preview.

I never told anyone to install it. I just said an "Optional" update was available. What people do with that information is up to them.
