Took awhile but the Windows 10 update (KB5005565) is loaded the latest Cumulative Update release.

Windows 8.1 keeps things busy as a bee.

Usually things go smooth but I kept getting a RETRY several times. I'm going to suspect it was the load on the bandwidth at the time. But such things raises interest if it's something else. Trying not to use it much until Oct 5 major upgrade to Windows 11.

Oddly enough I had a similar problem updating Edge, getting this message: "Wait a few minutes and then refresh your browser". :eek:o_O

I see this a lot. Especially if you check shortly after logging in to Windows.

I agree but I normally patch on day 1. Especially now with running Windows 11. I hope some of these bugs are sorted out this Tuesday. We shall see.

I suppose if I install this update that I can kiss bye to my older programs that continue to work fine with Windows 10? I am so tired of Microsoft forcing me to spend more and more money. Anyone else feel the way I do?

Well I hear you.:) But at least we have another choice until 2025, stay with Windows 10, that's what I will do.

Windows 11 at the core is Windows 10. All the programs you have in Windows 10 should run in Windows 11. Its designed to be backwards compatible.

My machine doesn't meet Win 11 requirements which is a pity, but Win 10 is working so beautifully, I can wait, although a new computer after 8 years is probably not a bad idea to upgrade anyway...

I have discovered at work that we have 2 PCs that meet all of the requirements but the CPU. They have a 6th gen i5. Trying to decide if it would be worthwhile to get it installed there or not. I'm sure it would run fine, but I'm not sure about them withholding updates. I am assuming that will be for all PCs that don't fully meet the requirements, and not just the ones that don't meet any.

I got a cumulative update on mine so I guess security and bug fixes will roll out to everyone. Whether people would get new features next year, that remains to be seen.
