JB, I've been called a lot worse than "brave" I tell ya! :p No signs of 17134 yet in terms of downloadability. We will see what the new week brings. Absolutely NO telling. :ninja:

Microsoft Acknowledges Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB4093112 Causing Pen Issues
Workaround also provided by Microsoft, fix on its way

    April 16, 2018
    http://news.softpedia.com/news/micr...ate-kb4093112-causing-pen-issues-520701.shtml
You can resolve this issue using the following steps:
    1. From Start, search for cmd
    2. Right-click Command Prompt in the search results, and choose Run as administrator
    3. At the command prompt, type or copy/paste:
      reg add HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Pen /v LegacyPenInteractionModel /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
    4. Press Enter
After the command executes, the issue with panning and scrolling should be resolved.

Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.

I would be very careful about downloading Windows operating systems from unknown sources.

I'm running 17134 from the fast ring and it seems fine so far. It of course reset all of my default programs, and they keep turning on fast startup.

I have a mix of 1709 and the 1803 that was released as 17133 to the release preview ring because I was stupid enough to assume it would go RTM. That said I'm not having any issues with it. They will all go 17134 when it is released, assuming it is. If not, whatever is released after it. My personal machines are on 17134, also no issues. Next time I'll be smart enough to wait. Still, I prefer the 17133 build to the 1709 release. It seems a little faster and smoother overall. I haven't gotten in any trouble for doing it... yet. :isay:

Sage advice Wise One. After downloading the Sihmar-pointed 17134 64bit ISO file and burning a DVD with it, something "unusual" appeared during some DVD verify utilities; that is all I am gonna say OTHER THAN I am now gonna wait for more official ISOs from Microsoft before leaving 17133.

Here we go again, I'm afraid ...
    Win 7 (64-bit) and KB4099950

That KB4099950 article has been updated on 18 April 2018.
    It says now:
Now go to the catalog https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=4099950
As in my case for the 64-bit version.
See what's offered there. Not one but two files.
    Code:
    http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/software/updt/2018/04/pciclearstalecache_1c944f48bfb21d88a2054683abcd02327ecf6b37.exe

    http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/software/updt/2018/03/windows6.1-kb4099950-x64_245d5aaf7d50587297825f9176be166c47ad10f7.msu

    Arghhhhh ....

    PS:
Thanks to Ron for this post that made me aware of this. Thank you Ron!

Gotcha. I am running 1709 at work and at home. I guess the only way to get the latest build is do join the insiders club correct?

That or find an ISO. Be picky about them if you do. If you can get it from Microsoft or download the files from their servers to make one then it should be trustworthy. Otherwise you never know what was done to it. Being an Insider isn't too bad. You can join when something that is a release candidate is available in the ring you sign up for and then you can go to Release Preview or quit back out.

I've never had any issues with the many Windows ISOs I've downloaded from sources other than Microsoft. But I do understand, that it is best to download from Microsoft.

If anybody can tell us more about this, please do so!
    Like for example about:

    1.
What exactly means this from the KB4099950 article:
"If you have previously installed KB4099950 prior to April 17, 2018 please uninstall the older version of KB4099950 and reinstall to assure you have the most recent version."

    2.
    I don't see a newer version of the KB4099950 "installer" :
    windows6.1-kb4099950-x64_245d5aaf7d50587297825f9176be166c47ad10f7.msu
It is still digital signed at 29 March 2018 and that was the "previous" one too which I already have used.

    3.
So which older and newer version of KB4099950 are they talking about?

    4.
What exactly to do with that PCIClearStaleCache.exe and at which moment?
This one from the Catalog :
    pciclearstalecache_1c944f48bfb21d88a2054683abcd02327ecf6b37.exe
That file is also digital signed at 29 March 2018.

BTW: I have now talked about the 64-bit version of Win 7 but something similar goes for the 32-bit version.

    Edit:
I just found now related article by Woody:
    https://www.computerworld.com/artic...n-twisting-update-to-the-win7-ip-bug-fix.html
The issue is there too mentioned.

If you have a checksum to compare they could be fine. But as ISO files are not digitally signed, it could be backdoorded and you would never know the difference. I mean besides the backdoors the 3 letter agencies already put in.

It's been awhile but just logged into my Insider account on my home machine. I am currently downloading Windows 10 Insider Preview 17134.1 (rs4_release)

    Let's see how it goes!

I hope you didn't get around to this - they have discovered yet another bug in 17134 now. I am going to just wait until they get it sorted out. Good luck!

Meh, it's not a showstopper in my opinion. I would have never found the issue if it hadn't been pointed out to me. Other than this 1 issue it has been an excellent build.

Appears that there was a problem with the first version that was sent out by Windows Update. The script did not complete as it should. Because of this it needs to be uninstalled so that the revised version will be offered via Windows Update.

The original version that is in the MS Catalog is OK. It does not need to be uninstalled/ re-installed.

That other file you have referred to in the MS Catalog looks like something for a WSUS user to make use of.

Microsoft created this problem - there is no mystery for them to solve. Crazy!.
