Oh, you fast and reckless souls! You early adopter adrenaline junkies!
No problems here with 24 & 27 updates respectively on two 7x64 machines.
The edge, the edge I tell you, is where I want to be!

18 on x64 W7 SP1 and all is fine. Not that I observe them every time, but I noticed my 13th one flashed, as in the update seemed to take about one second or less, Service Pack 3. Never realized I had SP2!

I don't know, but I have Office 2007 installed, and I got 2 Office 2010 updates many months ago, and every time I reinstall I still get them. I am assuming that they're just labelled wrong and that they really are legit updates for whatever product you or I have....

Anyone else have any issues with this update cycle on a Dell system? I am trying to isolate what happened here on a Win 7 x64 system that crashed on the restart cycle requiring a forced power reset to clear. After the hard reset, Windows shows all the patches applied. Of frustration at the moment is that there is no information about the crash in the event log so am hoping someone else may have a better idea about a possible root cause.

    System: XPS 8300

What signs did it show that it had crashed?

I only ask because on both my Win 7 and Win 8.1 machines (not Dell) after the requested update restart, the machines rebooted themselves again during the configuring. On Win 8.1 it took a short while to ''come back up'' after the second reboot.

    The symptoms:

    1. Heavy, continous fan use as though the system were being stressed
    2. No apparent HDD activity

At first I suspected the malicious tool scanner, but with no activity on the HDD light and no DVI signal to the monitor I concluded crash and forced a power cycle with the results above.

"Seems" being the operative word. I believe that the truly safe thing to do is to wait, like some of the guys on this thread always do. Or else create a fresh image each Bork Tuesday prior to updating.
To do otherwise is a bit of a gamble, combined with a boatload of blind faith. :thumb:

I have noticed that Flash Player in IE11 has been updated to 17.0.0.134. Has it been brought by recent Windows updates?

Thanks @anon my bad, I have overlooked it. Strange is that Flash Player for other browsers stay at v16 yet.

Problems with a security update issued this week by Microsoft have surfaced on a number of technology forums. Windows users say Microsoft Security Advisory 303929, which adds SHA-2 code-signing and verification support for Windows 7 client machines and Windows Server 2008 R2 boxes, is causing computers to enter into an infinite loop.

One of the operating system updates Microsoft released on Tuesday of this week —KB3033929 — is causing a reboot loop for a fair number of Windows 7 users, according to postings on multiple help forums. The update in question does not appear to address a pressing security vulnerability, so users who have not yet installed it should probably delay doing so until Microsoft straightens things out........http://krebsonsecurity.com/2015/03/ms-update-3033929-causing-reboot-loop/

'Another website says, go to Control Panel, click on Programs and Features, View installed updates, find KB3033929, right-click it and “Hide this update”.' ~ op cit

Sounds like good advice to me.
