Works with RedHat. You can double check other versions of Linux by contacting Terabyte support.

I want to ask about the licence of BING. Contrary to other software, BINg is independant of OS and can be used without install on multiple PCs. If I buy it, I wonder on how many PCs I can use it for partitioning/ imaging etc?
In case of other sofware, if u want to use it on another PC, U simply uninstall it from first one and install on the other one but I am confused what wopuld be the situition in case of BING?

For your reference, Erik, KISS is an acronym that stands for "Keep It Simple Stupid", and is often referred to as the "KISS" principle. It's along the same lines as Occam's Razor where the best explanation or means is usually the SIMPLEST. I first heard "KISS" in my chosen profession of engineering but it's widely applied in everything from toilet cleaning and animal husbandry to quantum physics and psychoanalysis.:ninja:

I couldn't resist second guessing myself, so I checked in Wikipedia. At http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KISS_principle, it says:
More details on Occam's Razor for the curious: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam's_Razor
OK, that concludes the O.T. sidebar.:p

Here are a couple of relevant excerpts from MY copy of the BING license agreement:
    Code:
    ...
    1. LICENSE:

    (a) YOU MAY:

      (i) (Single Copy License) if you paid for a single
    copy license, either:

        (A) install and use the Software on a single
computer that you or your organization owns or controls
("Computer System"), as further described in 1(c)
    below, or

        (B) use (but do not install) a single copy of the
Software with one or more Computer Systems that you own
    or control;

      (For Permitted End Users and Systems, see 1(c) below;
    Home users, see 1(d) below)
    ...

    AND
    Code:
    ...
    (d) HOME USERS. If all Software use under this license
is for personal purposes at home, then each licensed
copy may be installed on one additional Computer System
in the same home under 1(a)(i)(A) above.
    ...

So my amateur attempt at answering your question is: As a personal user, if you DON'T install it on one particular machine, you can use it on as many systems as you own or control. In addition, if you are a "Home User" you can install the software on TWO machines (the customary desktop-laptop combination, perhaps).

If you are not a "personal" and "home" user, the licensing language gets thicker (more complex) and, furthermore, there are several license types available for purchase at the web site.

NOTE: I'm not a lawyer, NOR did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, so I can't guarantee the accuracy of how I interpret the mere excerpts of the license I've quoted above nor their strict applicability to you. So, don't use my "name" if you end up in court over this.;) It's just my best guess.

Thanks for the detailed reply. Legal issue is a non-issue here where I live, so to me it is all about ethics and honesty mainly.
So what I understand that as a home user I can install it on ywo PCs( i don,t get the idea that one desktop-one laptop is a must here as I don,t see it stated clealy here-- but I may be wrong). Moreover if I don,t install it, I can use it on as many PC as own or control in my home, so I can say that I can use it on my laptop, my desktop and my family PC etc( BTW I have no idea how far I can stretch this etc). What about if I use it for partitioning on my brothers PC etc-- may be wrong I think?

Nor did I state it was a must either. Instead of "perhaps", I should have said "for example".
It says "one or more". I take that to mean anywhere from one to an infinite number of PCs as long as you OWN them or CONTROL them.
If it's your brother's PC then the implication is you don't OWN it. Then the question becomes, "do you CONTROL it ?". My copy of the license contains:
    Code:
    ...
"Control": For purposes of this Agreement, a
person or entity "controls" a Computer System when he,
she or it has actual control over the day-to-day use of
    that Computer System.
    ...
As Dirty Harry would say, "Well, do ya?...'Control' it ?"
