Hello @Brian K , I am booting over to Mint now to try it. Give me a few and I will let you know how it goes ...
Hello @Brian K , What would I use here in place of "brian"? I assume whatever username that I have used for my Mint installation?
Hello @Brian K , As always , thanks for your help as the above worked like a charm and I now have all of my BootNow items set up and working ...
That's great. I like having IFL in Mint but it's not really necessary. Just fun. I use it for automated IFL restores of Win 10.
I couldn't find this info anywhere. but if you use BootIt UEFI and you only want to use the maintenance tools, you can run it straight from your UFD without installing it. Boot up your BootIt UEFI UFD, and when you see the setup, click on the "Cancel" button and it will say, "You are now entering maintenance mode". https://i.imgur.com/t8U3EEb.png Some very handy tools. https://i.imgur.com/hK4PjJt.png
I have wondered what this setting means. I normally leave it unticked, but I am going to tick it this time. I am guessing that it takes BOOTIT.INI from the folder that the TeraByte BootIt Collection is in instead of the TeraByte OSD Tool Suite Pro folder. By the way. TeraByte has updated their applications.
Hadron, I use it every time as it lets you omit filling in several fields. Mine is... Code: [Video] Method=1 Mode=42 [Options] TimeZone=AUS-10 ISO8601=1 GlobalGeoAlign2K=1 OutputDiskID=1 MDUseDirData=1 [License] ProductKey=XXXXXXXXXX User=YYYYYYYYYY Put it in the main folder along with makedisk.exe
Yes. Also, in making an IFL boot disk I tick... ifl.ini BOOTITBM.INI But you must already have the two ini.
Do they go in the IFL folder? C:\Program Files (x86)\TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite\IFL
TeraByte OSD Tool Suite Pro located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite\TeraByte OSD Tool Suite Pro\win has BOOTIT.INI in there. Is BOOTITBM.INI ever needed in there?
I have copied both BOOTIT.INI and BOOTITBM.INI to C:\Program Files (x86)\TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite\IFL Is that right?
Is this what you add to the IFL.INI file? I just have BOOTIT.INI and BOOTITBM.INI. I don't have one at present in C:\Program Files (x86)\TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite\IFL.
ifl.ini Code: [Options] OutputDiskID=1 MDUseDirData=1 GlobalGeoAlign2K=1 TimeZone=AUS-10 ISO8601=1 LogFile=/tbu/boot/ifl.log [License] User=XXXXXXXX ProductKey=YYYYYYYY [BACKUP_DEFAULTS] PostValidate=0x2 [RESTORE_DEFAULTS] WriteChangedSecsOnly=1 PostValidate=0x2 [COPY_DEFAULTS] WriteChangedSecsOnly=1 PostValidate=0x2
After double clicking makedisk.exe you see 3 choices for "Select the product to build". You have to select the third. "Traditional - You have control over options. (Custom)
Hi @Brian K I'm ready to try this application, I have a 450 gb hard drive that has windows 10 installed, I want to make 256 gb for the windows 10 partition, 150 gb for the windows 7 partition and the rest I plan to install linux, now I've made a flashdisk for the installer windows 7 and flashdisk for bootit UEFI, please help me step by step to be able to multi boot on my laptop, thank you. Best regards walang
walang, Can you boot the BIU UFD in Maintenance mode. Don't install BIU yet. Open Partition Work. Let me know the partitions on the disk. Name, size, File System. You will have to use the Drives drop down menu to select the HD/SSD. Is it a HD or SSD?
Thanks. EFI System partition needs to be larger for the BIU multiboot. Boot into BIU Maintenance mode again. Select the Basic Data Partition and click Resize. Make the New Size 487470 MiB. Just type it in. OK, Continue, Close. Select the Basic Data Partition again and click Slide. Make the Free Space After = 0 (zero). Click OK and wait for it to finish. It's not fast. Select the Microsoft Reserved Partition and click Slide. Make the Free Space After = 0 (zero). Click OK and wait for it to finish. It will be fast. Select the EFI System partition and click Resize. Make the New Size the same as Max Size. It should be 400 MiB if my maths are correct. Restart into Windows. All OK?
