boot from usbexternal disk

    hi there
    any one knows how to create a bootable usb extenal disk that will restore image if i restart computer and mark in the bios "load usb disk"?

    I had a similar question when trying to use external USB floppy drive to boot from, sine my internal A: drive bit the dust. I was advised that this is not poosible. Quote:
    "There is no way to force this device to use a specific drive letter.
    Also, you can't boot from USB devices, as you have to have the USB
    drivers to load them with."

    Sorry RobZee... If your BIOS allows booting from USB then explore the site below. Bootable USB is Bootable USB regardless of the device as long as you can format it and get a boot sector and system files on it. This includes things like a Sandisk Flash Drives like the one on my key chain.

    Google "USB bootable external"

    Thanks for the info! Unfortunately, my PC is too old (Dell 4100 PIII from year 2000) to support that option, per Dell forum.
