If you purchase the retail version of TI, it comes with a CD. Otherwise, you'll need to install the program to create the CD. Be aware that when new builds are released, you'll probably want to (or need to) create an updated CD. This will require that TI be installed.

You need one license per PC on which the program will be used. If you want to use TI on one desktop and one laptop, you'd need to buy two copies of the program.

TI 2009 can backup and restore from the TI CD. You say you don't want a backup, but that's what you have when you create an image of the drive. The image file is your backup.

sorry i misunderstood the word backup. I thought a backup is only tha data without a starting os, and a image is coplete os with all data and so on.

Can i download a trial iso version of Acronis True Image Home 2009? i found only a setup files for download and i wanna to check the function of the boot cd without installing the software. Because i have some videocut pc's there is only approved software form avid / hp

You can't directly download an ISO image of the trial version. However, if you contact Acronis (Live Chat is probably the quickest method) and explain the situation, they may be able to provide you a link.

Also, the TI CD can be created on any PC that has TI installed. For example, if you have a home computer, you could install TI and create the CD. Then you could try the CD on the other computer. Of course, this gets another computer involved. I would try Acronis Support first.

Also be aware that with the trial version of TI home rescue CD you can only restore a image previously made from the Windows installed software. Unless you can persuade support to give you a link to a fully functioning iso. I seem to remember that they gave me one when first trialling version 8.

If you are looking after several PC's you may want to look at the other versions of TrueImage

    Hello homermg,

Thank you for your interesting in Acronis True Image

Please note that according to Acronis software licensing policy, you should purchase one copy of Acronis program per each machine it will be used with.

Using Acronis True Image program you can create image of whole system and place it on external drive, then in case system crashes boot from Acronis bootable disc and restore your system from that image. You can create Acronis bootable disc within the program using Media Builder option.

Download free trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2009 and test it for 15 days. Use this link.

    Best regards,
