Beware this issue when installing 4.6.0. I've reverted back to 4.4.2 in the meantime.

Win 11 - BleachBit error cleaning Edge pls close try again

Edge closed, next 'Task Mgr.', and kill Edge process, and then BB cleans without error. Note CCleaner has the same problem cleaning Edge. The error occurs in ver 4.2& 4.6 of BB

Hi JR, I installed portable app, choose 'bleach bit from the list' install 0 errors.

    Run BBit upload_2023-11-20_9-59-8.png

The error is Edge being open, this has been occurring since 4.0, perhaps the problem lies elsewhere in the OS deeper level, perhaps changed that keeps BBit from getting the message to EDGE?

Rico, I'm no help. I run Win7 64-bit and don't use Edge (Firefox ESR user). Perhaps someone else can chime in and help Rico.

No problem! I'm just fishing for...
Long-winded issue normal fix, does not work

    upload_2023-11-20_10-20-45.png

Edge must be closed from task bar kill process "MS Edge" process > then clean with BBit > no errors.

FYI just thinking out loud at HDD failure factory partition <deleted>, after windows sign out, the OS becomes virtual memory, interacting with hardware, could, the error have to do with the missing partition & intended write area, being unavailable? Commonality?

One fit is: Optane error unable to start
BIOS updates all fail at same point on install, + always the old BIOS version remains, after the reboot
BleachBit cannot work with EDGE regardless of ver number, Edge is way deep in M$ OS code.

    common amongst the 3??

mantra, this Post states that the third portable revision included the Visual C runtime so it could run properly, and it works in my Win7 64-bit PC.

Well, BleachBit stated that issue as known, and sorry, I don't use their Official Portable Distribution so I can't tell you if that's true.
