guys it is just a marketing trick, pay attention to the little note at the end of the page:

*Lifetime protection key is valid for the computer you first install it on,
for the lifetime of the machine, not exceeding 5 years
**Save up to 70% per year. Calculation for 5 years of PC lifetime.
    ***Average market value

    so much for lifetime :D

USA still the best. But barely.
As well as the other limitations mentioned. The all you can eat here is a MAXIUM of 5 years. So $70/5yrs = $14 a year at best.

To say PC Lifetime and lock it to 1 PC... I have no problem with that. To say "Lifetime" and limit it to 5 years... a deliberately misleading claim. For 5 years it's not a bad deal, but they should call it was it is up front. :thumbd:

Still that is in no way near lifetime......

5 years........I know its a great deal......but that's a very bad marketing strategy to lie.....

plus.....i never keep a PC or laptop more than a year!

Besides that, with each iteration, companies have the ability to really go downhill. Any series of missteps and a security suite can go from being the darling of those "in-the-know" to downright reviled. Not sure I'd ever buy a 5 year or "lifetime" license for a security suite nor would I recommend my clients do so.

Buying a lifetime license with the economy the way it is nowadays is almost a scam.

It is much better to look for great yearly discounts such as BD IS 2012 for $10-20 or something.

Very good point. A truly lifetime license might be a worthwhile investment, but a 5 years license of anything is a no. I won't even do 2 years unless it was free or really cheap.

How lame, a lifetime of a computer is not equal to 5 yrs. I have a desktop that is running for almost 7 yrs. I hate companies that does false advertising and gives misleading title just to attract customers.

Lifetime licences are not for me for the reasons you have stated and the fact that the company can be bought out as we have seen here often and the Lifetime licences are later terminated.
