    Internet Security

    Why?

    1) Its cheaper

    2) The extras are useless like system tune up and file shredder

There are many free file shredders like CCleaner and the system tuneup, well, that basically is a registry cleaner and other useless stuff

Nice, I use Agnitum-64, it's within Bullguard, and looks like it works really well in 64-Bit. However this is more of an advertisement then anything authoritative, just to make sure folks know that.

You are right, but I think that they are nonetheless raising valid points. It is a fact for instance that Kaspersky 2012 scored poorly on the 64 bits version of the Proactive Security Challenge test, while Kaspersky 2013 fixed that.

It seems that a security product being top noch on 32 bits OS does not mean it necessarily provides an equal level of security on 64 bits.
(EDIT : and all most famous AV tests are 32 bits, av-comparative & av-test)

Warning people to not make this shortcut sounds reasonable to me, in the light of what I'v read. Everyone is free to make it's own opinion about that :)

    Regards,
    Guillaume.

Good Evening ! Just installed Bitdefender I.S.2013...really impressed as too it's lightness. A basic question...is their a scheduler within Bitdefender that enables the user to set up a scan schedule? And if their is where in Bitdefender do you find the scheduler? All assistance is appreciated...Sincerely...Securon

Same here...caving in to public pressure, downloaded BIS and looks good. Trying to decide which runs lighter, KIS or BIS. I know they both have excellent security. :doubt:

wow surprised how some say bd is light. for me its far from it MUCH better than previously but still not light. maybe i have set my standards to high for lightness not sure. but bd is for sure not light. and yes my system is WAYYYYYY more than capable to run it with 16gb ram, i7 2600k oc'ed to over 4ghz etc... i can say its a small bit lighter than kaspersky but not by a whole lot.

d00d, I used to use KIS and when I switched to BIS I felt like I bought a new computer. The same feeling I had when I used to use ESS in the past.

so it is wayyy lighter than any solution out there I don't know what you've done to feel the opposite :doubt:

Curious what settings you guys are rocking with? Just installed it tonight on my kids laptop. Left it at Auto Pilot for now (late night and no time for tweaks).

Is that how you guys run it or do you have it customized?

    Thanks.

    Bitdefender is quite light now,
but when i run a full System scan, browsing in Chrome lagged a bit.
so i reverted back to my old setup.

I have mine set to run in user mode and I tweaked the firewall so that my network adapter had stealth mode to 'off' and generic 'yes' as per a recommendation from Christian.
