Bitdefender Free Software

I was browsing Bitdefenders site looking for their bootable virus removal CD and came across some free offerings from BD.

Anyone have any experience with these tools?

Seems to me you could compile an entire suite of the "free" offerings that BD has on their site.

Unless the free edition scanner has changed recently, it requires a service to be running in the background. If the service is disabled whatever is in quarantine is allowed to phone home. At least that's what happened the last time I used it.
