No, he won't; from all my talks with the anti-malware & cloud teams, I'm 99.98% sure :) that this scenario cannot generate an issue to a normal user
Remember that BDAVFree is not just cloud-based, it also have local signature cache, host active virus control..
Anyway, I'll re-start those discussions with my colleagues, and come back with more info on that

The only direct issue in regard of "BD Cloud Off" is related to web scanner, who's heavily relying to url cloud scan/check; maybe there should be a "warning" that that page was not able to be checked with the cloud

The new ActiveVirusControl SDK just entered the QA stage; hope will have a stable version to put into the WSF preview kit..

I don't mean to complain, and I'm probably being paranoid, but what is the criteria for signature updates?

When I first installed the program it would update the signatures every hour. Now they update every 3, 4 or 5 hours. Sometimes longer.

I still do enjoy the product and it's self maintenance.

    When needed afaik. :)

That's perfectly fine since it also uses the cloud database :thumb:

Yes, I would definitely be interested.

I'll be upgrading my operating system in the next couple of weeks, and that would be an ideal time to trial any new AV (and I've always been interesting in testing out Bitdefender, so....)

Would it be worth using TrafficLight along with BD Free?

I see there's a new version out now for both Firefox and Chrome.

No. Bitdefender Free includes the same web blocking as TrafficLight.

No need for trafficlight since bd free will block the website. It could be useful when you search on something and trafficlight gives you the different lights on each link.

False positives are still a problem with ANY AV.

Are there any system specs required to run the preview? Do we need to register somewhere to be considered for the preview test? send a PM?

That's what I figured. Although I'd disable all the features and use it just to see the safety of links.

That's what I would mainly use it for. Check the safety of links.

I don't know if it has been already asked: Does Bitdefender Free use the same malware signatures as the paid Bitdefender products?
