Bitdefender Antivirus Free - English GUI

This is the longest it has gone without updating, for me. Last update was at 1:29 p.m. earlier today.

 

This seems to be becoming more of a side project for them, unless there is some sort of communication or other problem going on. Between the sometimes slow updating, firewall incompatibility still existing (though knowing how Comodo staff can be, the Comodo issue may not entirely be the fault of Bitdefender.) and still not having a restore function after quite some time, I've given up for now like Kerodo. I'm all for great detection, but it doesn't mean much if the detection is false and I lose something, or I don't get updates to keep that great detection going.

Virus Shield is working, just not the virus signature updates.

 

Why so much fuzz? It's a cloud-based av. The local defs are only a backup. I would be much more worried if servers were offline.

Well mine still hasn't updated since 1:29 p.m. yesterday but as long as it's offering full protection then it doesn't bother me.

 

Is there a Bitdefender rep here?

 

I've been working with user azavoianu on a bug I found on XP Pro. He's been very helpful and commited to working it out. I don't know if there's anybody else.

Absolutely! I'll run it on a production W7 x64 machine, not a VM.

So two weeks before I can use BDAV free again. I can't use it 'cause of bugs. I can't open my only game and a bug within BDAV free but I already reported it and it's fixed according to guiman.

Hi Iulika: Would the user get a warning if the connection to the cloud has been interrupted?
