I installed PF first, then downloaded BD, used it for a month and had no conflicts.

Interesting... I installed BD first, then PF. Disaster... :)

I don't need a firewall anyway, just experimenting a little....

Should I disable BD before doing a scan with Malwarebytes?

    No need to do that.
If you use the pro realtime version you can exclude bitdefenders program folder.

Using the free version. Shouldn't conflict with BD?

No one of the Bitdender deffs told in this thread that a possible conflict was solved.

Do you all feel that this is polished enough yet, that I can safely install it on my kids pc's? Two typical teenagers who pay attention to nothing...Also, planning on pairing it with ZA free firewall, both their pc's XP SP3. Anyone running this combo without issues? Thanks.

Polished enough is difficult to say. It would be better if you could restore things from quarantine. That is coming somewhere this year, I hope .
I have installed it on my kids pc's combined with ZeroVulnerabilityLabs ExploitShield, Norton DNS and Windows 8 own firewall. At the moment everything runs great.

Lightest AV i've tried... for real. The web filter works like a charm and the whole product is so easy to use and unobtrusive that I use it on my own pc, that says a lot.

Best free AV imo. Light on system resources, always up to date, very efficient, amazing web protection, etc. Like I said I have to take a look to see if it's active because of the zero maintenance.

    Hi all,

Are there any known conflicts between BAV Free and:

-tinywall (i can't imagine there will be, still...)

-EMET 3.0 (is it a bad idea to apply the mitigation techniques for BAV?)

-ExploitShield (judging from Brandonn2010's input, there is not, still...)

    -Hitman Pro

-Zemana AntiLogger Free (does the behavioral defense of BAV have anti-keylogging capabilities?)

    ?

EDIT: Is there an offline installer?

    TIA

I appreciate the replies folks. The quarantine issue is the only reason I haven't installed this on my kids pc's yet. Other than that, I think this this would be the perfect av for their machines. I think I'll take a chance and put it on my sons pc tonight, and see how it goes. The other question was if anyone was running Zonealarm free firewall with this? I've seen conflicts mentioned with a couple of the other free firewalls, and was thinking ZA might be a good choice then.

I see where you're coming from, but unfortunately, it's not this pc that's in question. I'm going to stay with G Data on this machine until my license expires, then for sure I'll give BD a spin on it. Thanks though..:thumb:
