Yes, it IS weird for an AV, but I don't think the server is down, else my new install yesterday wouldn't have updated at all. They just haven't updated the defs for 2 days apparently.

You might ask on their forums if you're really concerned....

Bitdefender now the no-update champ, dethroning MSE. Maybe BD's website was hacked again.

Does the paid version of Bitdefender stop updating as well or is this just an issue with the free version?

I've talked to the colleagues who are in charge with the update servers, there are some maintenance jobs in progress; we should have several signatures update tomorrow.
I'll get back with more info..

I'm thinking of giving Bitdefender Free a go on my machine (Win 7 64 bit) and I haven't seen in earlier posts how many processes it runs, could someone let me know please.

    Many thanks.

It runs 2 processes: gziface.exe(main interface) and gzserv.exe(service).

Perhaps it's the firewalls that don't play well with it.. ;)

Seriously, which firewalls do you find conflict with BD Free, and in what way?

That must be the catch of having bitdefender for free...it doesnt work with most firewalls lol.
On a serious note isnt it bitdefenders responsibility to make sure its product is compatible with other products and services.o_O

I'm sure they all do their best, but sometimes there will probably be conflicting technologies and when that happens, hopefully they will work it out...

Online armor is an excellent firewall and most applications work with it flawlessly.:thumb:
