Sounds pretty bad, can't believe that companies still can't produce decent AV's.

It's always been the case with Bitdefender unfortunately. Great scanning engine ruined by a buggy app and UI and now so much bloatware even in the Antivirus Plus version

I agree, they should really stop Bitdefender and sell their engine. :thumb:

It would be helpful if you posted download links rather than just mention what version it updated to

It's truly sickening. What happened to the days that AV's were non-bloated. Recently, a friend installed Kaspersky Free, but it immediately slowed down the system. That's why I became interested in Cylance, in theory it should have been quite fast. But for some reason it's not available in Europe.

I honestly don't notice any bloat with BD Free running on a Win 7 Pro computer that I use for games and entertainment. I like it because it is "set and forget", and runs quietly in the background.

Am not really interested in tweaking security options on this particular PC. Don't do much web surfing on it, but I do occasionally stream TV episodes from major network websites without any issues. Don't notice any slowdowns when playing games either.

And if I ever do want a few extra CPU cycles, I can always just switch off BD real-time protection with basically one click. Perfect!

    Hi

I want to install BD free but it says i do not have the appropriate IE installed. I have reduced my Os with NTLite so IE is reduced to a minimum. Other Av`s is possible to install but not BD. Is there a workaround.?

Surely there must be a way to install BD on a W10 without IE. No?

I've been using BitDefender Internet Security 2019 and found zero issues with it. I personally like it.

It seems that Bitdefender fixed some flaws in the Free version:

The issue was resolved in Bitdefender Antivirus Free version 1.0.15.138. Mitigation delivered automatically to affected userbase.

    Hi

Does anyone know what protection, in detail, BD`s protection shield gives.

Kaspersky and Tencent Pc Manager has a more detailed description of their protection in their free Av`s. I want a free Av that checks the Pc during boot, Kaspersky does that.
