Yes you are right. I forgot about that one. However on the bright side your registration doesn't expire like it does with other AVs.

The mentioned links are no longer a useful source of malware because pretty much all AV vendors monitor them and add the stuff from those pages instantly to the signatures.

Still many samples from those links are missed by AVs.

By the way the test was mostly to check if the protection of BD Free is the same as BD Paid as mentioned in BD site. And also to check how strong offline protection BD Free provides. The rest was extra, etc...

    Iulika0069,

    A bug in BD Free

On detecting & quarantining malware, BD Free changes the default settings of Folder Options i.e "Do not show hidden files/folders" & "Hide extensions for known file types" are unchecked.

Tested on Win 7 64 Bits

I have posted it in BD Free forum too.

    WTF that means?

So? First scan that I tried was like Infected items detected: 52 and again No infected items have been found. How can that be?
1st day of using BD free. Should I remove it?

BD Free wrongly just reports some password protected files as infected. No infection as there was no real infection. Nothing to worry. This have been reported in BD Free forum. Hope its fixed soon.

Checks the events logs & there you will find the info.

I always keep Auto Scan off. It always chews away at the hard drive unnecessarily. So long as you keep Virus Shield running, you'll be all good. It's quite thorough and I have trusted it for a while now.

This is my observation, but not sure if its always true. Last time before formatting my PC I did not have issue with log button. I think the reason is then I had installed .NET framework as part of other programs, before installing BD. Now on my latest installation I installed .NET framework along with BD. Maybe when BD configures .NET framework it messes up things. I am not sure though. Worth a try when you install on a fresh PC.
