Is this fully cloud or have some offline protection too?

    RightClick scan is too slow.

Does this still leaves the quarantined files in the original folder in unusable state or this has changed?

Did you find the changelog in the meantime? :doubt:

Edit: After a reboot the LOGS button is dead again. I know, that's Bitdefender ... :doubt:

I don't know of any free antivirus better than Bitdefender Free Edition. That's what is keeping me around.

Depends on what you're referring to. If you're talking detection, then yes, it's good. But if you're talking quality and support, then there are many better ones, some with detection very near BD's. Just depends on what you want, and what your tolerance levels are I guess...

the problem between the free version and the paid one seems be solved with the last update. but now, the manual scan seems be very slow (local and cloud ?)

+1 on that...I found BD free a bit lacking as frackinou told when I tried it last and many areas,I found avast better.

If someone wants to go for freeware, then avast or Qihoo are my choices, both are head to head in AV-C real world tests, comparing their results on basis of different months results has got me to believe rest freewares are hardly what you call a "replacement".I am convinced somehow from reading another thread that they fixed their cloud bug of not detecting.CIS right now is great for advanced users, for average ones its way too vulnerable on defaults and cloud uploader is a load of trash right now because its so unstable!

I am sure avast v9 is gonna get much better but we will see when their new technologies are up and I throw tons of malware at it!! So,my next lucky freewares on my list are Avira and BD free :thumb:

Seems it hasn't been released yet. My version is still at 1.0.18.1069.

Definitely one to try. I liked it a lot, but I went back to my free year of F-Secure. Light as can be, "real world" detections are right up there with Avast & Qihoo,.

I am trying this now. Version is 1.0.18.1069. No major issues so far :) . System takes a little bit more time to boot. Great web protection and no issues with logs button even after restart. Web filter works with browsers sandboxed by sandboxie and no conflicts with Software Restriction Policy :thumb:

Yes, no conflicts or problems with Sandboxie, EMET 4.0 rules, Execute Radar Pro, nor SRP (unlike Qihoo 360 IS). BD Free is a good product. Hopefully...someday...they'll iron out these small bugs.

BTW, the 1.0.18.1071 update still hasn't arrived at my PC.

    Later...

I've already got that 64 bit offline installer. Its Digital Signature is July 18th 2013. Unless 1.0.18.1071 has been released in the last few minutes this installer will only upgrade you to 1.0.18.1069.

Thanks for the link anyways. Neowin is generally a good source.
