Since installing Bit Defender Total Security 2012 Ive been experiencing slow shutdowns in Win 7 x64.

I dont know anything about windows processes.

Which processes are used to shutdown Windows? Are any of them likely to be interpreted as a threat by Bit Defender?

Is there anything I should whitelist? or any other explanation for the slow shutdown?

Ive done full system scans with a couple of different AV and anti malware programs and theyve all been clean.

I'm testing BAV 2012+ and would like to hear opinions on this too, I seem to have to wait every shutdown for a mysterious program to close - adding about 5-10 seconds to the process.

This may NOT be a BAV issue but it wasn't there before I installed it...

    Thoughts please?

    Mtia.

To be fair I'm finding Bitdefender to be a very good option, the only issue I have had (so far) is the shutdown documented above, even that is minor and may NOT be BAV related.

BAV apparently performs well in virus tests and currently 'feels' more stable than my Eset v5, so we shall see.

Of course any thoughts on the shutdown 'issue' would be nice...

A quick look on google came up with someone having issues with VSSERV ?

Any able to shed any light on how this may be a part of any potential shutdown issues?

I actually Beta tested the 2012 product. They gave me complementary 6 months..
IMPO..Bitdefender Internet Security 2012 was such a horrible Experience!!
Installed it when my pc was infected with some TRDownloader wich creates Uninstall_.exe, ASR_XXXXX.exe, Random Numbers.exe...I At least scan my pc for almost 5 times...It was not able to completely Remove it , they somehow coming back..So how they are supposed to be given so high ratingso_Oo_O?? o_O (May be good marketing Stuff..lol;) ) and another thing that after installing it, I was not able to D/L files from net:blink: ..I uninstalled it & D/L starts working again...& don't forget the high resource usage!!! For me Bitdefender is a big "NO". Finally got rid of the virus after installing Emsisoft AntiMalware.:D Currently using the trial.:
